Quiberon and the offshore islands

Quiberon … this Breton peninsula offers a magnificent wild coastline and access to the offshore islands of Belle-Île, Houat and Hoedic. You can easily spend a day here.

Visits to gourmet and famous companies …

On your way to Quiberon, you may want to take the time to visit a few local local businesses La belle-iloise (traditional canning factory), La maison d’Armorine (sweets), La Cour d’Orgères (jams) or La Maison Lucas (fish smoking)…

The wild coast

La Côte SauvageOwned by the Conservatoire du Littoral, it stretches for 8 km and is an extraordinary sight. It is home to a very special flora: carnations, purple heather, broom, mugwort and more. The area can be explored on foot, bicycle, sea kayak or horseback. The coastal path allows you to stay on foot, closer to the ocean…

The islands …

To get there from Quiberon: by boat with the Compagnie Océane Tel. 0 820 056 156 (€0.12 incl. tax/mn)

D’other departures from Vannes and Port-Navalo:

Belle-Île

Belle-Ile is 15 km off the Quiberon peninsula and the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan. The island is a plateau 17 km long and 9 km wide, or 85 km², with an average altitude of 40 meters, cut by numerous small valleys.

It’s the epitome of Brittany: wild and welcoming at the same time !
If you like walking, you’ll love the 100 km of coastal paths. But perhaps you’d prefer a guided bus tour… plan your getaway with theTourist Office

Hoedic… 1 hour from the mainland

Just an hour from the mainland, Hoedic appears. Along eight kilometres of coastline and superb beaches, the island, untouched by cars and pollution, offers the curious an enchanting and rare palette of smells and colours, sounds and impressions. Hoëdic has fewer than 150 inhabitants and around ten fishing boats, which together support most of the island’s families… Here, everyone knows everyone else and the welcome is spontaneous! It takes just three hours to explore all the dimensions of this 2.5 km long by 1 km wide shard of granite.

Houat … 30 minutes from the mainland

After a 30-minute boat ride from Quiberon, thefeeling of being truly elsewhere is immediate. Exploring Houat begins in the fishing village of Port-Saint-Gildas. The island is not very large, and can be circumnavigated on foot in three or four hours by following the coastal snake. The scenery is extremely varied, with coves, cliffs and magnificent beaches… The beautiful beach of Treach-er-Goured with its dunes is a pleasant stopover. Further afield, the walk to the Beg-er-Vachif point, on the west side of the island, is particularly beautiful.
